Hey everybody, how long has it been since I last updated you... AGES! And what have we been up to?… LOADS!
Well for a start we are now back to our original line up as a four piece, AND, because as the temperature is starting to cool down a bit, guess where we have all been? THE STUDIO!
We have almost finished two brand new tracks, "Weekend Colder Brighter" which is absolutely great, its quite moving actually with (as usual) really great lyrics by Chelsea and my personal favourite at the moment "Cheap Dress" which is a real Towering Inferno of Hi NRG angst! It's the real deal baby! On this track we are planning another guest vocalist but I shall be letting you know more about that when the time comes, and once it’s all sorted OKAY?
Thanks also to everyone who came down to see us at The Flaming Cave Lounge on the Carrie Prom Night Party, sorry about the confusion over the dates we had listed on the website... Ooops! Anyway, it was an absolute scream, although I was finding red glitter in the strangest of places for days afterwards!
Oh and one of the best things was, the week before last we were photographed by Kate Garner, for iD magazine, it was an absolute honour, and a real laugh too, that girl sure knows some great stories...NONE of which I would be allowed to repeat here, or anywhere for that matter! She ROCKS!
Wo listen, we are not planning any more live dates at the moment, well not until just before Christmas, and that is going to be REALLY special, as we are really concentrating on getting some studio stuff done, honestly!
In the meantime why don’t you watch "Paris is Burning" on DVD, that’s what I would do…

| Hey
Everybody, Kim Phaggs here again with
all the news just for you.
Nostalgia came out last Monday, hooray!
I hope you got your copy already,
if not CHECK IT OUT HMV and VIRGIN!!
For your nerves. Also check out i-Tunes
mother funky...!
Did you watch Big Brother? Well,
Readers Wifes played Cock Live last
weekend and guess who was there....Kamal!
He was supposed to be DJ,ing but only
had THREE CD's with him! He was very
funny and just like he is on the telly...
of course! Cock live was brilliant
fun, and guess what? We are doing
another collaboration! Scream-a-dellica,
of course I'm not telling you who
with, just yet.
Anyways, after Cock Live on the Saturday
we all went down to Brighton on the
Sunday as we were asked to sing a
couple of songs at Queer Bash, at
the Concord 2. Well it was the first
time we have ever played a gig in
Brighton, which is funny actually
because the first time we ever DJ'ed
as Readers Wifes was in Brighton at
a club called The Loft I think...
probably shut down now I should expect.
Anyway ramble ramble, Brighton gig
lovely, had a good laugh on the train
and a nice carry on on the beach in
the afternoon.
Oh yes, remember I was telling you
about my i-Pod, well I LOST IT ALREADY!
It must have fell out my pocket in
a taxi or something, oh how I laughed!
Anyway, we are DJ'ing this Friday,
guess where...Somerset House, they
are showing Flash Gordon the film
and we are DJ'ing before and after
it. That is one of the best films
ever made. Especially the bit where
Peter Davidson has to put his hand
into the big tree trunk and not get
stung by the creature inside and you
think he is okay and then... oh sorrry
I wont spoil it for you in case you
havent seen it.
Love KIm Phaggs

| Hey
Everybody, I hope you are all enjoying
the oppressive humid summer weather.
This weather is the worst time to be
stuck in a rehearsal studio but that’s
what we have been doing, because as
I hope you know we are doing a few dates
AROUND TOWN! Starting off this Thursday
the 28th at The Marquee for the Nag
Nag NAg Summer Lounge evening with Atomiser
and Synthetic Pleasures, it should be
a brilliant laugh.
We are also doing Friday night at
The Royal Vauxhall Tavern, that should
be great too, as Severino is DJ'ing
for us. I absolutely can’t wait,
I hope you can come.
Oh yes, the video for Nostalgia is
finished. It was finished a little
time back, but I have been on holidays
so I didn’t post, sorry. Anyway
we showed it at Duckie on Saturday
night and everyone seemed to like
it. I think that we will be having
it up on the site soon too, but I
kind of leave the super-tech stuff
to other people, as I seem to be a
bit of a technical jinx with all that
sort of stuff, although my iPod seems
to be going okay so far, I have had
it for a couple of months now and
it still isn’t broken or crashed
or whatever they do, anyways I will
keep you posted on how the two nights
go OKAY?
Love Kim Phaggs

| Hey
Everybody, hope you all had a GREAT
bank holiday, you know how I said before
that bank holiday is Readers Wifes favourite
time of year, well I change my mind!
Don’t ask why because I don’t
want to talk about it... kind of like
Rod Stewart! For your nerves!!
Okay, HOORAY, the video for Nostalgia
is finally finished. Brian dropped
the final copy off to us last week
and it is BRILLIANT, I think it totally
ROCKS ! So... hopefully when you read
this there will be some COOL screen
grabs from the Nostalgia video for
you to look at, and if there isn’t...
just wait because they will be up
here soon. OKAY!
Also, the Readers Wifes will be appearing
at the Morrissey tribute night at
the Coronet, Elephant and Castle.
In their DJ sense and a "surprise"
appearance with the rest of the Wifes...
Check it out then take it AROUND TOWN!
More Soon, Love ALWAYS Kim Phaggs.

| Hey
everybody, hope you all had a nice Bank
Holiday. Bank Holiday is the Wifes’
favourite time of year except for Chelsea.
His is Bonfire Night.
Anyway the Nostalgia video is ALMOST
finished; Chelsea and I are going
into the studio tomorrow to do some
close ups!! SCREAM !!! Hope we don’t
break the camera HAHA!
We have been getting really nice
feedback about the remixes, I kind
of flip between the two, sometimes
I like The Most mix best then some
other times I like the Atomizer mix
the best and then there are times
when I like the original best and
then there are times when I like them
all the best, and then there are times
when I don’t like ANY of them
the best and just put on Enya. But
that’s not very often.
I can’t wait for tomorrow as
we are meeting Justin as well and
going for a pizza, and guess what
else? I am getting a iPod, Chelsea
is coming with me, wonder how long
it will be before I end up breaking
it or it crashes... probably about
a couple of days ... YiKE-A-RELLA!!!!
Hopefully we will have some exciting
developments to announce to you in
regards to Nostalgia in the next week
or so, but you will have to wait...
Bye Love KIM PHAGGS

| Hey
Everybody,
Sorry for the late update to the
diary page, but I have been having
some computer difficulties... everything
seems to be sorted out now I hope.
So, as you can see, there are some
pictures of the first part of the
Nostalgia
video shoot on the photo page,
we all want to say a huge thank you
to everybody who came down to the
shoot, it was really good fun, although,
by the end if the shoot both Chelsea
and myself were kind of regretting
that we had decided to wear afghan
coats as part of our dramatic new
look! It was absolutely boiling...
still, we are no strangers to suffering
for our art.
We have been finishing off the other
tracks for the single too; Lets Spend
The Night Together and Endless Night,
both sounding lovely.
This coming Thursday we are DJing
at "What We Like", DJ Lush's
night at Black Cap in Camden, that
should be fun, OH and last week we
went to "Electrogogo" at
Madame Jo Jo's and saw Wendy James,
she was brilliant, and she still looks
absolutely gorgeous, really cool.
What else, oh yes that’s right
we are sorting out some stuff for
the Morrissey night at The Coronet
in the summertime, we are DJing at
it and I think the band might be putting
in an appearance too!
I will give you more info when things
are a bit more concrete. But that’s
enough to be going on with for now,
if I think of anything else I will
let you know.
Love Kim Phaggs.

| We
filmed a short section of the video
for our next, single Nostalgia, on Thursday
night (Mar 24) at South Central. It
was basically just a straight 'live'
- ie: mimed to fuck - performance of
the last section of the track. I can
tell you, at 4 hours filming for 90
seconds of footage, it's as boring as
everyone says it is.
Anyway, the band all dressed up like
Mick, Marianne and dead-eyed Stones
hangers-on circa 1969 and a whole
load of our mates turned out looking
just gorgeous for the crowd shots.
Thanks to all those who came and put
up with the stop-start. I've seen
some of the "rushes" and
can assure you it was well worth all
that time hanging about in heels.
Jonny Slut, you were truly terrifying.
Thanks also to director Bryan, our
make-up artiste Steph, Simon-the-stylist,
juicy DJ Jim Stanton and the marvellous
Mark Oakley, who kept the bar open
for the duration. You know you went
far beyond the call of duty and you
know we love you madly for it, you
slaaaaaaags. Pip pip!
Love Chelsea

| Hey
Everybody,
I hope you are all enjoying the Springtime
weather, Springtime is the Readers
Wifes favourite time of year... except
for me... I like Summertime the best,
but anyway I just wanted to let you
know what has been going down... Wife
Wise.
We are back in the studio this weekend,
AGAIN... we are finishing off Nostalgia,
its pretty much all been recorded
really, so there is just a couple
of bits to be added, then we are going
for a curry to celebrate Chelsea Kelsey’s
birthday before we go to Duckie...
Hooray! Then, next week we are filming
the video for the single, we are "shooting"
it in a club in south London and the
theme is kind of like a big party
scene with all our friends in it,
a little bit like the end bit in the
St Etienne video for I Was Born On
Christmas Day... I hope! I know I
am always saying this but I absolutely
promise to get some pictures from
the day and post them on the site
OKAY!
Love Kim Phaggs.

| Hey
everybody, GUESS WHO?
Anyway what have we been up to?...
Well, it’s all been a bit "go"
at the moment as we have been back
in Wolf Studios doing some work. We
have been recording Nostalgia, with
Justin Bond, which has been lovely,
and we are reworking Endless Night,
which just seems to be taking FOREVER.
While we were waiting for Dominique
to load up some files we all went
upstairs and watched the "A Song
For Europe (or Britain) Show"
it was brilliant... Well of course
it wasn’t but wasn’t Jordan/Katie
Price's song great? Chelsea and I
were singing it on the bus afterwards
when we went for a curry before Duckie.
I hope you are all looking forward
to Friday and Comic Relief. Chelsea
and I are going to dress up as Little
Britain and stand outside all the
tube stations on the Northern line,
we are being sponsored to see how
long it takes for us to get battered.
NOT REALLY!
Love Kim Phaggs.

| Hey
Everybody, Kim Phaggs here (of course)
with a little update, and some dates
up! To put in your diary...Oh never
mind!
Anyway, Madame Jo Jo's was fun. Princess
Julia and Severin on the decks, someone
mentioned to me that the sight of
those two together behind the DJ booth
was worth the entrance fee alone!
Then US! I think there are some pictures
to come that will be up on line as
soon as we can sort them out. Then
Severino. He played an amazing set,
he is genius edition DJ, keeping the
punters dancing right up until chucking
out time. Thanks to all of you who
came down, I hope you had a fun time,
and to those of you who didn’t,
I hope you can come to the next one
on the 10th of Feb!
We were on at Nag Nag Nag last Wednesday,
we did a super short set which was
really well received by the crowd
down there... brilliant fun.
So now we are on at The Cock on Friday
4th, and then, on the following
Monday, the 7th, guess what single
is released?… SCUMPOP ......
Hooray! I hope you will all run out
buy it, or maybe some of you have
already ordered it ON LINE! Anyway
we hope you like it....
See you at Number One in the charts!
Loving your work.
KIM PHAGGS xxx
