Concept, design and implementation

In 2005, Virgin Digital launched its digital download service with a dedicated player which contained a website with two definite sections, the download store and the download subscription club.

The player site was adapted from the US service. The signage had to fit with the UK service's genre split and reflect a similar look and feel as that defined for Virgin Megastores.

Virgin Digital also required weekly graphical elements to be used on various home pages on the player to promote newly released digital albums and site events, and a weekly newsletter which had to incorporate some of the strong visuals used around the launch of the service.
